The curriculum committee of the Institute of Physics has been working on a framework to shape the physics curriculum in a coherent, lasting and self-supporting way based on a set of big ideas. Specifically, we have developed some proposals for big ideas relating to the practices of physics in order to make explicit the disciplinary knowledge of physics – as well as the substantive content knowledge.
