Come along and watch DNA being sequenced live in this interactive session with scientists from the Wellcome Genome Campus.
In this interactive talk and demonstration, you will find out about the latest DNA sequencing technologies being used at the Wellcome Sanger Institute and have the opportunity to get hands-on with a portable sequencer that is revolutionising the way we sequence and analyse DNA!
We will also discuss how we are bringing sequencing to the classroom with a new educational outreach programme, enabling students to get hands on with the latest sequencing technology and discuss the impact this can have on students.

Session outline:
Introduction to the Wellcome Genome Campus and its research
Sequencing timeline and overview of current Sequencing technologies
Introduction the Oxford Nanopore MinION
Live demonstration of the ONT MinION, including loading experience for teachers.
