Dr Anna Kirkham, UCLAN Lecturer in Forensic Chemistry, experienced Further Education Vocational Teacher and External Assessor for Forensic and Applied Science and Dr. Cat Tennick, UCLAN Forensic Science Lecturer and Placement lead at the Lancashire Forensic Science Academy will provide an interactive workshop to develop skills in crime scene investigation and forensic science. This workshop will be useful for those looking to refresh their skills, or develop new knowledge of forensic science applications and their relationship to the vocational curriculum.
This session will introduce interactive classroom activities that can be used to motivate and engage students and develop their observation, enquiry and analytical skills, for curriculum enhancement or use in enrichment or stretch and challenge sessions. This workshop is aimed at those delivering Level three vocational teaching, but would also provide useful material for ideas development for Key Stage 3 and 4 engagement.
In addition to interactive activities in the session, we will introduce concepts of Crime Scene Investigation and Forensic Science, developing curriculum links, looking "behind the crime scenes", and exploring career options for those students who express an interest in this area.
We look forward to meeting you!
