The CREATIONS project is a European-wide project designed to encourage cross-curricular collaboration between Science and Art Teacher. In our study, we explored how collaborations of this type, in a secondary London school, support students in developing their knowledge and understanding about 'big ideas' in Biology and their perceptions of the nature of knowledge in Science and Art. The study revealed that the students developed a deep understanding of ideas about evolution and geological time and they recognised the need for imaginative and creative thinking in Science. It also shifted their perceptions of Science and Art teachers as working in ‘siloes’ within their specific discipline.
